Rates checked September 12, 2026 against Stripe's official pricing page. Custom pricing, other payment methods, Stripe products, refunds, disputes, taxes, and payout fees are not included.

Example: a $100 domestic card payment

The percentage fee is $2.90 and the fixed fee is $0.30. The estimated total fee is $3.20, leaving an estimated net payout of $96.80.

How to calculate Stripe fees

For a forward calculation, use fee = amount charged × total percentage rate + $0.30. Your estimated payout is the amount charged minus the fee.

To receive a target payout after fees, use required charge = (desired payout + $0.30) ÷ (1 − total percentage rate). To receive approximately $100 at the standard domestic rate, charge about $103.30.

How much is the Stripe fee for $100?

At the standard US domestic card rate, the estimated Stripe fee on $100 is $3.20. International cards, manually entered details, currency conversion, custom pricing, or a different payment method can change the result.

Why can the effective rate exceed 2.9%?

The fixed $0.30 charge increases the effective percentage, especially on small transactions. Additional international, manual-entry, or currency-conversion charges can increase it further.
