eBay fees used by this calculator
For U.S. sellers without a Store, eBay charges a final value fee based on the total amount of the sale plus a per-order fee. For most categories, the rate is 13.6% up to $7,500 and 2.35% on the portion above $7,500.
The per-order fee is $0.30 for orders of $10 or less and $0.40 for orders over $10. The fee base includes the item price, shipping charged, sales tax, and other applicable amounts.

The percentage fee is $136.00 and the per-order fee is $0.40. Estimated total eBay fees are $136.40, leaving $863.60 before item, shipping, advertising, or other costs.
What is included in the total sale amount?
eBay calculates the final value fee using the item price, shipping and handling collected from the buyer, sales tax, and certain other applicable amounts. Sales tax increases the fee base but is excluded from this calculator's payout because eBay collects and remits it.
How much does eBay take from a $100 sale?
For most categories and a U.S. seller without a Basic-or-higher Store, the estimate is $14.00: 13.6% of $100 plus the $0.40 per-order fee. Category, Store level, international sales, seller performance, advertising, and upgrades can change the result.
Does eBay charge fees on shipping and sales tax?
Generally, yes. Shipping collected from the buyer and sales tax are included in the total amount used to calculate the final value fee, although eBay documents limited shipping exceptions. The calculator includes both in the fee base and then removes sales tax from estimated payout because eBay collects and remits it.
Does eBay charge a separate payment-processing fee?
eBay describes its standard final value fee as one fee when the item sells, without a separate third-party payment-processing fee. Optional advertising, listing upgrades, Store subscriptions, international fees, disputes, or seller-performance surcharges can still add costs.
How do promoted listings affect eBay profit?
A promoted listing can add an advertising fee when the sale is attributed to the ad. Because campaign types and ad rates vary, enter a known charged amount under “Other eBay fees or upgrades” when estimating profit. Confirm the actual advertising charge in Seller Hub.

- This calculator covers eBay.com and U.S. sellers without a Basic, Premium, Anchor, or Enterprise Store.
- It supports several common non-Store category schedules and a custom flat rate; excluded subcategories can differ.
- Vehicles, real estate, classified ads, NFTs, bullion, handbags, jewelry, watches, and athletic shoes can use special fee rules not modeled here.
- Store subscriptions, promoted listing calculations, refunds, disputes, seller-performance surcharges, and currency conversion are not automatically included.
- Use the manual fee fields for known listing upgrades or other charges, and verify your actual Seller Hub statement.
